Surfboard Series / Graffiti Experiments
Early experiments in graphic work moved beyond the screen and onto physical surfaces, including a series of surfboard graphics and graffiti studies.

01 / FINAL COURSE PROJECT · 3D · WORLD-BUILDING
Developed as a final Professional Aptitude Project, Odyssey Ship reinterprets Ulysses’ departure vessel in the year 3050, a future dominated by robots, long after humans have disappeared.
The vessel was conceived not only as a visual object, but as something that could be assembled plausibly. Its scale suggests orbital construction, a modular logic comparable in principle to the way the International Space Station was assembled in orbit.
02 / OBJECT STUDY
One Archive. Kuru Toga.
The study asks a simple question. What happens when the language of a perfume commercial is applied to an ordinary mechanical pencil?
Research, modelling, lighting, animation and editing were used to elevate an everyday object through rhythm, restraint and detail.
Independent academic work. Not commissioned by or affiliated with Uni Mitsubishi Pencil.
03 / AUTOMOTIVE PHOTOGRAPHY
A self-directed photographic study of proportion, material and the emotional charge of warm morning light.
Independent photographic study. Not commissioned by or affiliated with Porsche.
Automotive photography is approached here as an exercise in observation.
Proportion, surface, material and light become a way of reading the object beyond its function.
The intention is not simply to document a car, but to understand how engineering, atmosphere and visual culture can coexist within a single image.
Selected commissions are developed privately, in dialogue with the object, its context and the image it requires.
COLLECTION / PERSONAL IMAGE NOTES
A reduced selection of images that are especially important to me, taken on iPhone and vintage cameras. They reflect spaces where I found inspiration, references in colour, and details that later reappeared in other works.
A selection of the music playing while designing, modelling, rendering and editing.
THE ARCHIVE, SO FAR
Early experiments in graphic work moved beyond the screen and onto physical surfaces, including a series of surfboard graphics and graffiti studies.
Selected for an Erasmus professional programme centred on creative exchange, adaptive reuse and technical collaboration.
Completed the Odyssey Ship as the final Professional Aptitude Project, alongside the conclusion of secondary education at Escola Profissional Val do Rio.
A 600-hour placement working across architectural visualisation, 3D modelling, image treatment and digital content inside a professional studio.
Beginning the next chapter in Architecture at the Faculty of Architecture, University of Lisbon, while continuing to develop independent work across 3D, photography and moving image.
FROM THE ARCHIVE / EARLY WORK
Early graphic experiments applied to physical surfaces, including a small series of hand-finished surfboards and related visual studies.
JUNIOR 3D ARTIST · IMAGE-MAKER
Filipe Rodrigues is a Portuguese junior 3D artist and image-maker based near Lisbon. His work moves between 3D visualisation, photography, moving image and designed objects, combining technical precision with atmosphere and visual storytelling.
Drawn to objects, transport, light and spatial composition, his work is built through observation, experimentation and detail.
